The Vinh Moc tunnels are located in Vinh Moc village, Vinh Thach commune, Vinh Linh district, Quang Tri province. Going from the North to the South along the road on National Highway 1A, near the Cemetery of Vinh Linh district, you turn left about 13km towards the sea to the Vinh Moc tunnels. On the road with many cool bamboos, perhaps few people know that just below their feet is a system of tunnels, "a world" underground of troops and people of Vinh Linh during the years of resistance from 1965 to 1972.

This land used to be called "dead coordinates" because it was in the target of the enemy's destruction. However, after storms ofbombs from aerial aircraft sprayed down, from the offshore fleet hit, VinhMocstillintact historical values, military, culture, architecture and a symbol of willpower resilience, bravery, miraculous vitality of the Quang Tri army and people.

This is a fantastic construction was created by the strength and wisdom of the Vinh Moc army and people, with 18000 workdays they diged and transported 6000m3 of rock to complete this spectacular and extraordinary construction.

More miraculously, this is also a thumbnail of the villages going into the ground with the tunnels, each branch is a lane, each corner is a apartment. In the cellar there is also a hall for meetings, group activities, art performances, maternity houses, surgical stations, water wells, bathrooms, kitchens and guard stations in the doors ... Under the depth floor, life still flourishes, becomes the extraordinary strength that every Vinh Linh’s people can  "piggyback" on their own 7 tons of bombs and bullets but they still resilient to go through war, fighting and win.

The tunnesl  have covered and protected living for people here. Moreover, people here still live and fight on their homeland; trasporting foods and weapons, ambulancing, giving aid to Con Co island ... During the time of existence in the tunnels, no one was injured and even there are 17 babies was born .
