Go with us on along the Ho Chi Minh Trail, you will have a step back into the areas of former military in central highland, as well as old battlefields, war sites and memorials in the area of Vietnam DMZ.
Day 1: Hue – Hamburger Hill – Khe Sanh. O/n in Khe Sanh
8:00 Our gudie and driver will pick you up at hotel and transfer to A Luoi district on 49 National Highway, you will pass through the countryside of KoTu and Ta Oi ethnic people and get beautiful landscapes en route.
10:00 You reach A Luoi town and be on small road to reach Hamburger Hill which is the famous hot spot in Vietnam War in May 1969.
10:30 You will be transferred to the mountain foot and trek to the top and have chance to see forest on the way, then explore the old airport as well as the landscapes surrounding the hill.
11:30 Trek back and transfer to have lunch at local restaurant.
13:00 After lunch, travel to Khe Sanh along the Highway No.14 and cross the Dakrong Bridge which was known as an important conduit for Ho Chi Minh Trail in the war time.
17:00 On arrival in Khe Sanh town, check in at hotel then free to visit around and have chance to meet ethnic people of Ka Tu, Van Kieu, Paco in their villages to know about their customs and lives.
18:00 Have dinner at local restaurant. Overnight at hotel in the town.
Day 2: Khe Sanh – DMZ – Hue
7:00 Have breakfast at hotel.
8:00 Transfer to visit the US Specical Force Camp at Lang Vei where witnessed the Battle of Lang Vei, in 1968, as a part of the Route 9 – Khe Sanh Campaign by Liberation Army of South Vietnam.
9:00 Continue to Khe Sanh Combat Base – an outpost by US Army during Vietnam War, and was the site of the feirce battle of Khe Sanh. Visit Ta Con airport relic site where you can see military helicopters and war remnants.
10:30 Travel to Dong Ha city.
12:00 On arrival in the city, have lunch at local restaurant.
13:00 Travel to visit Hien Luong bridge arcoss Ben Hai River at the middle of the DMZ and marks 17th Paralell – the former border between North and South Vietnam from 1954 to 1972. Visit the museum to see the exhibition of historic objects and images of the war.
14:30 Travel north east for 13 kms to reach Vinh Moc tunnels – a network of tunnels built by villagers seeking shelter from bombings during the Vietnam War.
15:30 Transfer back to Hue city.
17:30 Tour ends at your hotel in Hue.
